My New Job: The story so far…

I’m aware I haven’t blogged in a while, especially since there has been so much going on right now to talk about. But, the thing is – I’m not allowed to.

I started a new job about three weeks ago as a Creative Technology Director at a new start-up agency. It’s a big career step for me, as well as a very risky one. I left my job at RAPP (the kind of advertising agency that you could quite comfortably spend 5+ years at, to join a company which in reality, could have quite easily gone bust before my notice period was even over. Luckily, it didn’t.

A lot of stuff has happened since joining this new company and as it goes with this type of industry – that ‘stuff’ is highly confidential. So much so, that I find myself going into isolation from everyone around me. It’s not a good way of life. Of course this is all time sensitive and in a couple weeks I’ll be able to talk about everything (thank goodness)!

In the mean time, the job is going good. It’s still very young and with that comes certain challenges, and that’s fine because it adds a depth of excitement.

I’ve got a lot of ideas for things I want to make and do, and no time to do them in. I’ll most likely start churning things out again once I’ve settled in to this place and things have calmed down a bit.

On another note – I went and bought myself an iPad mini. It’s amazing – the smaller size makes it easier to type on whilst holding it with two hands, and the screen is still large enough for me to not miss my old iPad2. It handles a lot better and because of this, I find myself using it more. Sure, I use it a lot for the sheer joy of using it, but also more and more for productive/professional uses. Uses like creating flowcharts, wire frames and even building and maintaining websites, but more on that later.
