STAY SAFE

Doing this will probably result in you getting fired.

Do not do this to someone else's computer, even if they walk away from it leaving it completely vulnerable to actual GDPR and security violations.

Running this script installs a recurring reminder that makes a computer audibly* say:

“Don’t forget to lock your computer”

A chain is only as strong as the weakest link. Stay safe gives you the power to be the office vigilante that you deserve to be.

Using a non-offensive arsenal of a simple reminder, you can impose an audible* reminder for your weak link to lock their machine.

How to install the reminder:

  1. Open the Terminal app on the macOS or Linux machine.
  2. Paste the following command into the terminal:
curl -fsSL https://marcusmichaels.com/stay-safe/install | bash

How to uninstall the reminder:

curl -fsSL https://marcusmichaels.com/stay-safe/uninstall | bash
* Audible reminders only work on macOS due to using the native say binary. Linux has a visual notification instead.

This is for educational use only, and to raise awareness of the security implications of leaving a computer unlocked and unattended. Made with love and slight frustration by @marcusmichaels
