These gradient pattern style logos have been popping up a lot recently, so I thought I’d give it a go at making one on my iPad.

The Portable Office: Filer

20121127-211809.jpg

The biggest issue with the iPad, for me, was the inability to download various filetypes from the web. I don’t mean PDFs and other easily readable files that iPad can handle – I’m talking about .tff (fonts), packaged .zip files and various others.

My previous process for, lets say, importing a new font into the Inkpad app was this:
Get on laptop > download font.zip > extract font.tff > upload to Dropbox > Get on iPad > open Inkpad > import font.

You get the idea. Menial tasks like this shouldn’t warrant the need a computer at all.

Then I found out about Filer! This app is like a key that unlocks some serious iPad potential (It also has a free version which is just as great minus a few features).

Filer simply allows you to download whatever you like, unzip (if necessary) and upload it to your Dropbox making it instantly available for use by all the other compatible apps you may have.

I’ve Discovered Something Amazing!

20120825-183144.jpg

As I was writing my previous post (on the WordPress iPad app), I accidentally used the two finger outward pinch gesture on the keyboard.

I thought it was a glitch at first, but looking at it, it’s the perfect keyboard to use with your thumbs if you’re holding the iPad with two hands. Amazing!

EDIT: This feature isn’t just on the WordPress app, it works native to the iPad keyboard across all apps.

My new iPad!

I gave in to the craving for a new Apple product so I decided to get my very own iPad. So far so good, does everything I want it to do. This might actually replace my laptop!

The WordPress iPhone App

This is just a test post to see how the WordPress iPhone app measures up. I’m going to upload a photo to see if I can place it in different positions or whether it just puts it on the end… Either way, this is just jobber jabber to fill the post so there is no actual relevance to carry on reading any of this. Now for a Bull made out of jelly beans!
